Join Bristol Legal Observers for a two day, in person, Legal Observer training on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th April, 10.30am – 4.00pm

Legal Observers are an essential part of support at protests. Whether they’re handing out key advice on bust cards, or finding witnesses for arrests, legal observers help to ensure that people protesting don’t face police alone.

If you complete this training you will be expected to become part of a wider national solidarity network of legal observers. You will be expected to volunteer as a legal observer at least once every few months, including supporting a wide variety of protests.

With an increasing number of protests and events in Bristol being targeted by the police we need to grow the team, and ensuring these skills are embedded across movements in our city. Learning together gives us the chance to get to know each other and step into real life situations with more confidence.

You can read more about what a legal observer is in this guide.

Each day will start at 10.30am and finish at 4pm with plenty of breaks. Hot and cold drinks will be available, but please bring your own packed lunch and snacks.

To equip you to take part in this training you need to have previously attended a GBC Know Your Rights training.
